Lamptest turned to the people

Recently, I was rightly reproached that my project for testing LED lamps lamptest.ru is focused exclusively on geeks, and ordinary people will not be able to understand the jumble of numbers. Indeed, at that time there were already more than thirty columns in the table and it was not easy for an unprepared person to figure this out.

I have outlined the way how to make Lamptest more understandable and accessible to anyone who is thinking about choosing high-quality lamps.

Today I will tell what came out of it.

First of all, the default table is now shown with the minimum possible number of columns. They are nineteen.

Putting the checkbox “full mode”, you can enable the display of all 44 columns, but this is for those who need all the parameters and who will not be afraid of such a number of columns in the table.

Four articles were written: How to choose an LED lamp , How to use the site , What all the fields in the table mean , How is the final grade , the links to which are placed in the most visible place on the main page of the site and are highlighted in red.

Changed the final lamp rating formula. Now, the assessment is primarily influenced by the light quality of the lamp, and only secondarily, the deviation of the measured parameters from those stated.

Added forum .

Of course, the site is still not perfect and there are plans for what can be done even better. In particular, in the near future there is a remake of the lamp card, the display of the parameters in which will become clearer and most likely there will be an opportunity to leave feedback about each lamp.

I have a few questions for you. What else to add to the instructions for beginners on the main page? What is not clear on the site for you personally? What is uncomfortable and how to make it better?

ps For the development of the project lamptest.ru I am looking for:

1. Volunteers who are ready to start adding CQS values to all 1244 lamps in the database, updating lamps prices, checking the relevance of lamps;

2. Assistants who are ready to engage in the purchase and return of lamps in stores in Moscow.

3. “DIY” and Arduino experts, ready to help with the implementation of several technical ideas: a simple goniophotometer from a stepper motor and a light sensor for measuring the angle of illumination and the luminous flux of lamps, a light pulsation meter, an analyzer of the form of current consumed.
