What to expect in the future from online projects?

I propose to freely dream up how fast the Internet business is developing, what we can expect from it in the future and where it is better to direct our efforts in this area.
Is it worth it to create your own Internet portal and invest a lot of energy in it, collect a lot of useful information in it, in order to sell it all in the future or earn money from advertising on this portal.
If the search engines will index all of this and give everybody who has a link to the information that is on it. And they will provide links to the internal pages of the portal, and the most expensive ads will be placed on the main page. The user will not see it, companies will not stir my advertisement, it will be more profitable for them to place it on a search engine. Should I then allow indexing my portal in a search engine, and if I don’t index it then how can I promote it without the help of search engines?
