Podcast "Sound": What we managed to discuss over the three years of work on the transfer

By the beginning of 4 years of work on the podcast "Sound", we had already recorded 38 issues. In each of them, the experts and I, as the presenter, will acquaint the listeners with the peculiarities of the audio equipment, analyze myths and ambiguous questions from the world of audio formats and technologies.

Earlier we already talked about the prerequisites for launching the podcast “Sound” and the main topics that we managed to make out during the first year of work on the program. During this time, the situation with the shortage of specialized media has not changed much: print media is gradually leaving the market, and online magazines have completely switched to smartphones, IoT and gadgets.

The need to listen to quality music and enjoy watching movies at home has not disappeared anywhere. Our modest contribution to the information component of this process is a total of 22 hours of thematic content and responses to questions from the audience.

If the main topic for the first year of work was a kind of “debunking myths”, then in the future we tried to use the maximum number of experts and guest speakers, to talk more about new brands and developments in the field of audio.

Old School Acoustics: Discovering the Brand's History
Timofey Shikolenkov, director of marketing and business development in Audiomania, spoke about the new acoustics brand Old School . This brand was initially focused on Europe and was built from scratch, but we did not forget about positioning in relation to Arslab and gave a description of the situation on the Russian market.

Cold Ray Products: What Resonance Monitoring Tools Can Be
In this issue, we briefly discuss the history of the Cold Ray brand and provide examples of a whole range of products: from racks for acoustics to cones and coasters for spikes.

Sound Ecosystem: Why Engineers Are Continuously Improving Existing Audio Models
Our conversation with Yuri Fomin, an acoustic engineer, whose design underlies the Arslab acoustics. This time we are discussing an approach to the modernization of acoustics and return to the concept of an individual “sound ecosystem”.

Old new vinyl: Its features and properties
This year, we were joined by Kerim Tatevian, one of the most prominent experts in Audiomania, who managed to take part in the recording of several issues at once. As part of this conversation, we went back to one of our favorite topics and talked about vinyl.

"Conservative sound": Talk Arslab and Penaudio
Artyom Faermark, founder of Audiomania, agreed to tell us about the collaboration with the Finnish brand Penaudio and shared some of the nuances of a conservative approach to creating modern acoustics.

"Sound factory": How to create a sound design for the movie
One of the most unusual releases on how to create sound design for TV shows and movies. Evgeny Pereyaslavtsev, who studied film production at Santa Monica College in Los Angeles and now works on various projects in the role of sound producer, told us about this.

"We look at home": We discuss technologies and formats
Kerim Tatevian, an expert in the design of home theater systems, spoke about the new features of home theaters. We touched on the Dolby Atmos format, talked about projectors and screens.

Old new sound: The views of the engineer and music lover
Unusual release with two speakers at once. Yuri Fomin, acoustic engineer and founder of the F-Lab project, and Andrei Kompaneets, an expert in the field of PR and marketing, shared their views on modern sound.

Every engineer wants to make S-90
The 20th edition of the Sound podcast. Timofey’s (@himinhick) conversation awaits you with the founder and CEO of Audiomania, Artem Fairmark, who shared insights from the acoustics industry and spoke about the history of the Arslab Old School Superb 90 acoustics model.

We talk about vinyl: Myths, opinions and current situation
One of the classic episodes of our program, in which timshick talks about how vinyl turners have changed, accessories, and assorted various myths related to the theme of vinyl.

We decided to dedicate some parts (and later whole releases) of podcasts to the answers to the questions our listeners can leave in the “Sound” reviews in iTunes (this is how listeners can influence the topics discussed in the podcast). Examples of Q & A releases: 1 , 2 , 3 .

In the new year, we will continue to acquaint you with the world of Hi-Fi in the new episodes of Sound [ iTunes - RSS - Web ] and we will be very grateful if you have time to listen during the upcoming holidays. Feedback is welcome: we will be interested in your story about your own experience in the selection of audio equipment and suggestions on topics for discussion.
