A month ago, I purchased my first mobile device with Wi-Fi. At first I used only at home and in a cafe near work, then I got the idea to check the “range” of the home access point.
I drove a car under the windows of the house, I live on the fourth floor, to the house from the road - five meters, the access point is two meters from the window, for a total of about 15-20 meters, no more. Reception confident, about 70%, I do not remember exactly. Glad and forgot.
Just the other day I came to visit, but I had to wait for the man to return from the sports club. Having nothing to do, I turned on the network scanner, and, not believing my eyes, I saw a rather confident reception of open (dlink) and two closed networks. In general, I used the Internet a bit (I wandered around on blogs.yandex.ru, I looked at what was going on in cinemas). ')
Having toured two more houses, I discovered a pair of closed networks and another open network. So open home Wi-fi is a paradise for spammers, wake up!
PS and the number of home wi-fi networks in theory should grow, with an increase in the number of mobile devices. And I would not be surprised if a saytik appears with a “freebie” card ...
