Photo tour of the MakerFaire 2016 exhibition in Shenzhen, part 3 (+ video)

We continue our tour of the exhibition MakerFaire 2016, which ended recently in the city of Shenzhen, China ( part 1 and part 2 ).

Recall - this is a grand DIY event historically based by the magazine MAKE, and with time it acquired an international character and takes place in many countries (including Russia).

Also under the cut will be video of robot musicians, fighting robots, cooking pancakes using a 3D printer and others.

Shenzhen

Just views of Shenzhen - the ships are adjacent to the pavilions of the exhibition.

Who does not know, but in Shenzhen there is an aircraft-carrying cruiser Minsk - like a ship museum.

M5 stack

And at this booth presents the project open-source kit to create tools for a variety of DIY work.

Base module, with human interface, and bus for exchanging with peripherals.

For example, here is a drilling machine:

Accordingly, the modular system - the module can also be installed next.

Communication bus - M-BUS, module scheme:

Information on the project .

Cell robot

Next to the M5 - is the stand of another project - Cell Robot. On a Kickstarter campaign that ended in September, they raised over $ 100k. The authors of the project are from China.

The key component is a ball:

with the original fastening mechanism, with each other, while - there is contact, the sphere also consists of hemispheres rotating among themselves - thus connecting these spheres with each other - you can get a large number of various designs.

DFRobot

Of course there was the stand of the company DFRobot - a well-known manufacturer and supplier of DIY electronics. For reference - the company was founded in 2008, and is developing OpenHardware modules for robotics. And over the past 5 years - has produced more than 1 million modules for students, teachers and DIY enthusiasts of robotics.

At the stand, they presented examples of their sets:

Makerfire quadcopters

How at the DIY exhibition and without a stand with quadrocopters? - and here we are at the Makerfire booth, a Shenzhen manufacturer of copters, founded in 2013.

Thegoodthing

But we are at the stand of TheGoodThing company that develops modular lathes. We immediately see what was done with it (right).

By the way, they are quite small in size:

Wooden locks

These are sets for children for building locks from modules. But this is not just a castle - but a path (labyrinth) for an iron ball (not very obvious in the photo).

Robot musicians

Live music from a group of robot musicians.

Vibrobots

Live vibrobot, sitting next to their "dad".

Robot Fights

Electric skate

Skate with electric motor.

Scoreboard

Lamp display.

Pancakes

This pancake was "drawn" using a 3D printer (delta printer), here is the process of "cooking":

Impressions

Good impressions from the whole exhibition - both industry giants and startup enthusiasts, interactive stands are presented. Everything can be seen and tried live - there would be more such events.

You can also see part 1 and part 2 of this photo tour.

Thank you targence (from Litchee Lab hackspace) for providing the material .

ps: yes and after part 1 - not everyone saw the copters on SexyCyborg arm, here they are:
