Apple Pay launch in Russia

Today, October 4, the launch of the Apple Pay service in the Russian Federation officially started, as evidenced by a message on the Sberbank official website.
Currently, this technology is supported by Apple Pay only in integration with MasterCard cards - Sberbank.

You can pay using Apple Pay in stores with iPhone SE, iPhone 6 and newer models, as well as with Apple Watch.

The press release says that payments through Apple Pay are confidential and secure, this is guaranteed by the Mastercard Digital Enablement Service (MDES) platform, which uses advanced technologies: EMV, tokenization, cryptography and biometrics.
