Ex-employee of Intel accused of stealing top-secret information

A former employee of Intel - Bishwahoman Pani (Biswahoman Pani) accused the district court of Boston in the theft of secret information and an attempt to transfer it to the company AMD.

At Intel, Pani was considered an experienced and respected engineer. However, in May of this year because of a quarrel with his wife, who also worked at Intel, he decided to quit and filed an application. Since Pani held a fairly high position, he just could not leave - it was necessary to close the case. It was planned that the specialist will be engaged in this until June 11, but in fact, already 2 numbers of Pani began to work on AMD. Intel knew nothing about this. As a result, for eight more days, Mrs. could use a service notebook, and also had access to the corporation’s internal network.

After it became clear where and from what date Pani continued her working life, Intel turned to the FBI. After searching the house of the engineer, they found more than 100 pages of secret documentation, as well as 13 drawings with the design of future Intel processor chips.

In his defense, Pani said that he needed the drawings and documentation in order to help his wife with his work.

Meanwhile, the FBI believes that there is no evidence that Pani really planned to transfer documents to AMD, and there is no information that AMD has ever received any secret information from him before. Most likely, the engineer was counting on, in AMD he will have the opportunity to present the ideas set forth in the drawings for his own developments.

Currently, Pani is ordered to hand over her passport pending the final decision of the court.
