At IFA 2016, which is now taking place in Berlin, Sony showed two new smartphones of the new line in addition to those already on sale - the Xperia XZ and Xperia X Compact.

The older model, Sony Xperia XZ, is equipped with a 5.2-inch screen with a resolution of Full HD (1080p), the dimensions of the case are 146.4 x 71.9 x 8.15 mm. Inside there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 3 gigabytes of RAM. The volume of the built-in storage differs depending on the version: with one or two SIM cards. In the first case, a 32 GB drive is provided, in the second case - 64 GB.

Slot for the second SIM card hybrid. This means that you can put either two cards from mobile operators, or one card of the nanoSIM standard and one flash drive up to 256 GB. The main camera with a resolution of 23 megapixels allows you to record video in 4K and take pictures in low light with sensitivity up to ISO 12800. Technically, the camera is very similar to Xperia X Performance, but in Xperia XZ appeared laser autofocus and several new shooting modes.

The second novelty, Sony Xperia X Compact, has a very small body size due to the screen diagonal reduced to 4.6 inches. Resolution - 720r. The processor is also slightly more modest compared to the XZ, but still high-performance: Qualcomm Snapdragon 650. The RAM is 3 GB, the built-in memory is 32 GB. There is a slot for a memory card, drives up to 256 GB are supported.
Built-in camera is absolutely identical to the older model. 23 MP, sensitivity up to ISO 12800, optical stabilization and laser autofocus. Interestingly, the connector for charging and connecting to a computer for both smartphones is new - USB-C. And, of course, it is worth noting that the older model is protected from dust and moisture according to the IP68 standard.
