Appearance and equipment

The design of the monoblock is almost the same as the ZenAiO Pro S considered in December last year. The only difference is in size: the hero of this review is slightly smaller on the diagonal and in a different color.

Unlike the older brother, the ZN220IC case is not aluminum, but plastic, painted in aluminum. Looks completely indistinguishable. The plastic is quite thick, it does not bend anywhere, does not creak. The surface is slightly rough. Stand - solid aluminum.

All controls and connectors are located at the back.

From left to right:

Unfortunately, the display has an almost mirror-like surface, so I was not able to take a good picture of the front side.

In the lower right corner of the front panel are indicators of power and hard drive.

There is a webcam and two microphones on top.

For the intake and blowing of air by the ventilation system, a grille is used, hiding behind the pedestal, and slit-like openings in the lower end of the housing. The stand has rubber pads, so as not to slide and scratch the surface of the table.

Complete with monoblock are wireless keyboard and mouse. They work from one common USB receiver.

Display

If last year's older version of the monoblock used a display with a diagonal of 23.8 inches and a resolution of 4K, here a 21.5-inch display with a resolution of Full HD was used. The smoothness of the image, of course, is not as high as that of the previous version of the all-in-one, but the pixels are visible only if you put your nose on the screen. Thanks to the IPS-matrix color reproduction is very good. Unfortunately, the protective glass covering almost the entire face of the monoblock has a perfectly polished surface. On the one hand, it increases the clarity and saturation of colors, but at the same time turns the display into a mirror. Because of this, it did not work out to properly remove the ZenAiO full face, because at the right angle, the display reflected in great detail either me or half the room. So I do not recommend to put a candy bar facing the window or bright light sources.

Please note that there may be a touch screen version available. If you control the computer manually, then immediately put a cleaning cloth next to it, glossy glass will have to be wiped constantly.

Performance

I got a model with a dual-core Intel Core i5 6200U processor running at 2.3 GHz and equipped with an integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 graphics chip. The RAM is 8 GB (4GB and 16GB models are on sale).

The review was one of the most modest versions of the ZN220IC: here the system uses a regular hard drive, not SSD. Because of this, programs run leisurely.

Due to the absence of a powerful discrete monoblock card, it showed very modest results in graphics benchmarks.

Benchmark Results
3D Mark 1.5.893 Professional Edition

GFX Bench

Cinebench R15

Unigine Heaven and Valley

Conclusion

The new ZenAiO ZN220IC is in every sense a simpler version of the ZenAiO Pro S. After all, not everyone needs a display with a huge, by modern standards, resolution, touchscreen and built-in three-dimensional scanner. And not even everyone needs a powerful graphics card, although this version of the monoblock will be on sale. Most users just need a beautiful home or office computer for everyday tasks, surfing, music and movies. And this niche is just occupied by the ZN220IC. The model was much cheaper, and therefore more accessible. At the same time, outwardly the computer is not inferior to the more expensive ZenAiO Pro lineup. Monoblock takes up very little space, looks impressive and is perfect for traveling through sites, working with texts and tables, an impressive sound system turns it into an excellent audio-video player. And for games and heavy calculations, it is better to take a dedicated computer specifically for this.

UPD. Recommended retail price: 66 990 rub.
