Can I make money on the parking domains?
Until recently, the parking of domains was considered solely as a service for cybersquatters and those who massively register at least some attractive domains in the hope of profitable in the future to sell them. This service allows these people to somehow compensate for the costs of registering and renewing a large number of domain names. However, yesterday, RU-CENTER introduced a parking service for its customers. At the same time in the news, it is positioned as a way to make money. Is it really? Is it possible to make money on parking?
The essence of the parking is as follows. Not all registered domains are used for sites. Many of them either “stick” to owners for resale, or projects are still being prepared for them. As a result, when you try to open such an address, a page with an error message will be displayed in the browser. However, the owner can “park” his domain in a special service. After that, when you go to its address, a page will be displayed not with an error message, but with contextual advertising. And if a visitor “buys” into it and clicks on a link, a few cents will “drop” into the account of the owner.
But can we count on real earnings? Probably yes. But for this you need to either have a very “tasty” domain (such that many users enter it into the browser’s line themselves), or a domain name that in the past belonged to a popular web project. However, such a solution is hardly advisable in the long term. Much more profit can be obtained from selling a domain or placing a web project on it. The option with parking is good when there is a need to wait several months (for example, in the process of negotiating the sale of a domain).
It’s probably not worth registering a domain specifically for parking. All more or less "tasty" names have long been dismantled. And without them, luring any empty contingent on an empty advertising page is unlikely to work out. Of course, all this is exclusively mine IMHO.
