Tomorrow, September 12, will be the Programmer's Day - an unofficial programmers holiday, celebrated on the 256th day of the year. The number 256 (two in the eighth degree) is chosen because it is the number of numbers that can be expressed using one byte. In leap years, this holiday falls on September 12, in non-leap years - on September 13.
Often, the word “programming” and everything associated with it is associated by an ordinary person only with a personal computer, but this is not so. Virtually every electronic device - from the remote control to complex industrial machines with program control - at one time passed through the hands of programmers.
Every hour we are confronted with the fruits of the labors of what the programmer did. Whether we watch TV, listen to the radio, talk on the phone - we use what the programmer has created. Perhaps no profession covers so wide a sphere of our life.

And although this holiday is still entirely virtual, the fruits of the work of our glorious programmers are very, very real. The value of the profession of a programmer in everyday life is difficult to underestimate. This kind of activity is becoming increasingly widespread and, at the same time, symbolizes the vanguard of modern society.
