Friendster abandons Yahoo to Google
Friendster, one of the popular western social networks, has announced a partnership with Google in advertising and search, Reuters reports.
Founded in 2002, the social network has good luggage of 37 million users (19.4 million active) in 75 countries. 45% of Friendster users are from Asia: most of them live in the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia (the USA is in 4th place). As stated in the Friendster guide, Google has been selected as the main partner to help continue the development of the network outside the US.
