In a
previous post, I wrote how I acquired a Sony Reader RS-505. At the request of readers post my review of this device.
RS-505 complete set: reader, lace for connection, "leather" cover.
Workmanship is very high. Full metal case. For six months of daily use, nothing creaks, no scuffs, there has never been a hang.

Russification of the device is very simple and fast. It is required once, and you can forget about it.
Branch dedicated to the crack.
Books are downloaded in fb2 format, then converted to native lrf format using fb2 to lrf converter. Translation takes 2-3 seconds.
I still have the built-in memory in the reader (I keep about 50 books on it, as I read, I start removing the old ones), so even the additional memory card was not needed.
Charging is done via USB. It is possible to purchase a charger from the PSP (it fits) and then you can simultaneously charge and read.
I read like a regular "analog" book, lying on the couch with good lighting. How the reader will behave in the subway or in other transport - I do not know, perhaps we need external lighting.
The sensations from reading are very pleasant - in 5-6 hours of reading the eyes do not get tired at all. I think the Sony Reader can be quite freely considered a substitute for paper books. Under certain conditions, it even pays for its cost (even if you buy electronic versions of books and not just download them from Librusek (google this word and be pleasantly surprised)).
In general, I think that this is one of the best acquisitions of late.
Cons, where do without them:
Reader does not understand Russian hyphenation, i.e. The converted text is rendered with non-uniform spaces. I'm used to it, it does not seem to interfere much. There are solutions, but they are very laborious, so I accepted it.
If there is more than one “reader” in the family, you need two readers. ;)
ps. If you have questions - ask, I will answer with pleasure.
Yes, it lives for a long time from charging - I have enough for a week. I read 2-3 hours a day.
