The new application for Windows 10 IoT Core allows you to make a 3D printer network

Windows 10 IoT Core is a version optimized for the mini-PC Windows 10. It was created specifically for use on Raspberry Pi 2 and 3, Arrow DragonBoard 410c & MinnowBoard MAX and other systems. It uses the Universal Windows Platform (UWP) API to provide developers with ample development opportunities. Microsoft added native support for 3D printers in Windows 8.1, so many models are connected automatically via plug and pray play.

A new network connection feature has been added for any of the supported 3D printer models. All this works like a connection to the local network of a regular printer - all authorized users of the local computer get the opportunity to use the device. So now, roughly speaking, any employee in the office can print himself a mug for dinner, without getting up.

Network can make one of these models of 3D printers:

• Lulzbot Taz 6
• Makergear m2
• Printrbot Play, Plus and Simple
• Prusa i3 and i3 Mk2
• Ultimaker Original and Original +
• Ultimaker 2 and 2+
• Ultimaker 2 Extended and Extended +

To get started, you need to run the Network 3D Printer UWP application on your Windows 10 IoT Core device, after which it will notify itself of its presence on the network. And already in the Windows settings, add a network device.



Upon completion of the connection procedure, you can print objects using any specialized application, such as Microsoft 3D Builder.
