Microsoft has found a way to bring Minecraft to the Chinese market

At the end of 2015, Microsoft managed to bring Minecraft to China, one of the largest gaming markets in the world. But it turned out to be done only on the Xbox One, which is not widely spread in China. On May 20, Mojang told in the official blog about the progress of promotion on more popular smartphones in China and personal computers. To reach more users, American Microsoft had to negotiate with Chinese NetEase, Inc. about licensing.

Due to the success of entering the new market, Mojang has published a funny video.

The Swedish company Mojang AB introduced Minecraft on November 18, 2011. In 2014, Microsoft bought the rights to the game along with a development studio for $ 2.5 billion. Now for Minecraft they are developing a version for Windows 10 and are testing artificial intelligence development systems .

Mojang announced that it had negotiated with the Chinese company NetEase, Inc. about the exclusive five-year license for the game Minecraft. This will bring the game to one of the world's largest gaming markets - PCs and smartphones in China.

To bring the game to the Chinese market, it is necessary to obtain several permits from the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, from the General Administration of Press and a certificate from the Ministry of Industry and Information of China. At the moment, the license for the Chinese software company turned out to be the only possibility, which shows how difficult this process is even for Microsoft.

Minecraft is a sandbox game available on a variety of platforms: personal computers under Windows, OS X and Linux, handheld and regular game consoles, smartphones, tablets and even Raspberry Pi. As of June 2015, a total of more than 70 million copies of various versions of the game were sold.
