The epic with the blocking of the
MDK public has come to an end. Today, at about 3:30 Moscow time, access to this VKontakte group is
de facto blocked on the territory of the Russian Federation.
As announced in court, each of the 695 albums of the public contains 400-600 photos that are pornographic in nature and can affect children's mental health. In addition, the community published texts with profanity and pictures that offend the feelings of believers.
The blockage was carried out by Roskomnadzor six months after the decision of the Smolninsky District Court of St. Petersburg dated October 27, 2015. The decision was disputed in court, but in February 2016 the city court of St. Petersburg
left it in force .

Documents from the court for
three months could not reach Roskomnadzor . The decision of the city court was sent back to the Smolninsky court, the expedition of the case continued until March 14. In late March, the press service of the Smolninsky Court was told that the case was allegedly sent to the prosecutor’s office of the Central District. On May 6, a representative of the court press service explained the situation: it turns out that the court should not have sent the case to them, and they did not receive it.
As a result, the authorities still managed to complete a complicated bureaucratic procedure - and a copy of the decision reached Roskomnadzor. Since May 21, the address has been entered in the register of prohibited resources on the territory of the Russian Federation.
Co-founder and leader of MDK, Roberto Panchvidze, wrote on his Instagram page that “it was a glorious hunt.”
The community
vk.com/public10639516 remains available through a proxy, as well as from other countries, including Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

Interestingly, the administration of "VKontakte" went to meet the creators of the public and now automatically transfers subscribers to
another address . As of May 21, the MDK group had 7.4 million subscribers.
