Tesla is preparing a new Roadster

In 2019, Tesla promises to release a new generation of Tesla Roadster. The basis for the updated model will be the technologies used in the creation of the Tesla Model 3, as well as the development on which the company's specialists are currently working. The platform for the current Roadster is Lotus Elise, but the Tesla Roadster 2019 will use the Model 3 base, which will allow designers to unfold fully. Already promised that the body design will be unlike the previous version.

Representatives of the company reported some details of the new design. So, Tesla Roadster from 2019 will be bigger and faster than its predecessor.

Obviously, both capacious batteries and a new electric motor are promised, which will make it possible to travel longer distances offline. Currently, Tesla Roadster without recharging can travel about 400 kilometers. If the new model can “do” 50-100 km more, this will be a real achievement. Up to 90 km / h, an electric car can accelerate in just 2.8 seconds. This is comparable to the index of the most advanced supercars.

As for the Tesla Model 3, Tesla Motors has scored more pre-orders for the electric car than it had planned. Now the company has 373 thousand orders, and this despite the fact that 8 thousand pre-orders were canceled by customers, and Tesla Motors itself canceled several thousand more. By 2018, it is planned to produce about 500 thousand electric cars. A few years later, the company hopes to overcome the milestone of 1 million electric vehicles of various models.
