Revolving houses

This time I present habrachiteli review of the seven most interesting projects of rotating houses. I propose to start with real-life buildings:

In the first place is the heliotropic house, which was built for himself by the architect Rolf Disch.

This house has solar panels on the roof that "watch the sun." In winter, the windows of the master bedroom turn to the sun, and in summer - vice versa.

The second place was taken by the oldest rotating house in the world. It is located in Italy. Built in 1935, the house has diesel engines that can rotate a slab with a diameter of 45 meters (on which the house stands) at a speed of 4 millimeters per second (it takes 9 hours and 20 minutes to rotate 360 degrees).

The meaning of the construction also consists in “tracking the sun”, however, unlike the first option, no practical motives were pursued - purely aesthetic.

In third place was an Australian house weighing 50 tons. This design rotates on a plate with a diameter of 24 meters. Rotation occurs around the central pipe, in which all communications are located.

The creators of the house declare that they save a lot of energy by controlling the illumination and the temperature in the room by rotating the house towards the sun.

Fifty years ago, François Massau built a house that is currently ranked fourth among the most interesting revolving houses. He built it for his beloved wife, so that she admired the sunrise and sunset ...

The remarkable point is that the roof of this house always remains motionless.

We turn to houses that so far exist solely on paper. In fifth place is the project of a French architect who intends to promote rotating houses to the masses. He claims that such houses consume 60% less energy than fixed ones.

Frederic Plazar calls his home “bioclimatic”.

The sixth line was taken by the project of the Dubai hotel, in which all the guests will have rooms with a view of the sea.

Closes our review of another Dubai project. Seventh place went to the already acclaimed press tower, in which each floor will rotate autonomously. Wind turbines will be located between the floors, which (as the architects and engineers say) will generate 10 times more energy than the building will consume.
