Where does SpaceX keep all rocket stages that have returned?

SpaceX is rightly proud of the fact that it managed to return the first three stages of its Falcon 9 space rockets. The last stage was obtained only a few days ago - then it was again possible to land the stage on a naval platform . At the same time, Ilon Musk, the head of the company, said that "most likely, it will be necessary to increase the size of the hangar where the missiles are stored."

This is a joke, but in every joke, as always, there is a rational grain. So it is here - SpaceX stores all the steps at Launch Complex 39A , spaceport at Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA. The company rents a launch complex from NASA. In the huge hangar 39A, up to 5 objects can be stored at the same time , equal in size to the first stage of the Falcon 9 rocket. But with such a pace, the hangar can be filled within the next few months.

At the same time, it is also planned to assemble a new Falcon Heavy rocket - a larger and more powerful version of the Falcon 9. It is scheduled to be launched as early as November, if everything goes well. Falcon Heavy is essentially three Falcon 9 assembled together. And these elements will be collected precisely in the hangar 39A. When the assembly starts, the steps stored in the hangar will have to be moved somewhere.

Here is the carriage. Not any road will suit

Where? Most likely in the test facility in McGregor, Texas. This means a long journey for Falcon 9. First to McGregor for storage, then return to Florida for a restart. So an increase in the hangar 39A can be a really sensible idea - then it will not be necessary to transport anything. And this saves both money and time. Or the company can build another hangar.

In any case, the more successful landings will be carried out, the more space for the storage of missiles will be needed by the company. Problems successful.
