Well-known techno-blogger John Gruber
shared information from knowledgeable sources from Apple. According to her, the new model of iPhone, which will be released in 2017, OLED-screen will occupy the entire area of the front panel.
From information leaks it is known that the iPhone 7, which will be released in September, will be almost identical to the current models 6 and 6s. The antenna lines will be moved to the top and bottom of the device, and the camera is slightly shifted to the edge.

Such minor design changes led to criticism from Apple - they say that it loses to its competitors like Samsung. The company's sales in the first quarter fell, and this move is regarded as another losing one. True, perhaps the company simply wins the time to prepare the next, radically new version of the smartphone.
Well-informed sources claim that the frame on the front of the smartphone will disappear altogether, and the screen will take up all of it. Touch ID sensor, front camera and speaker will somehow be integrated into the screen. The screen itself will change the LCD technology to OLED.
Earlier it was claimed that the change of LCD to OLED will occur no earlier than 2018, but, perhaps, Apple decided to time it to complete redesign of the device.
