The head of the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media Nikolai Nikiforov said that the budget for the development of a special state messenger was not allocated,
writes TASS. But the minister himself approved the idea. “The idea sounded. Why not if there is a good product. Some kind of budget financing is not expected yet, while nothing has been requested, ”the minister said.
This statement was made in response to a question about the creation of a specialized messenger for government agencies with Mail.ru. Let me remind you that after
doctors ,
policemen and civil servants in some regions of the Russian Federation began to prohibit business correspondence in the messengers that are now widespread, there was an initiative to create a state messenger. And the trade union of police officers
even proposed to buy Telegram from Pavel Durov.
The minister also noted that if a domestic product of this kind existed, it would be advisable for state officials to use it.
“Now they don’t use any messengers with any security protocols (government agencies - editor's note), only public information can be posted there. If any official information or state secret is disclosed, this is a reason for initiating a criminal case, ”Nikiforov commented on the situation.
