Today, as already
reported at Geektimes, the launch of the Soyuz-2.1a rocket from the Vostochny space center did not take place. Just a minute and a half before the start, the launch was canceled. The backup launch date remains April 28th. Nevertheless, there is a possibility that fuel will be drained from the carrier’s tanks, and the rocket will be removed from the launch pad and sent to the assembly and test building, TASS
reports .

A source in the rocket and space industry told TASS that the automation, which canceled the launch, revealed a failure in one of the instruments of the launch vehicle control system: “In deciphering telemetry - the automation before the start revealed a failure in one of the control system’s instruments engines, separation steps, the direction of flight. "
At present, “experts understand telemetry to determine a specific node, to“ ring out ”it and understand whether there was a false response, or in fact, some device failed.” If the node or device is really out of order, you will have to look for a backup system. "In the second case, they will see if there is a necessary device at the cosmodrome to change it," said the source. If this part does not appear, then transfer for longer term, than one day is possible.
Now the case of an unsuccessful launch is
considered by a special state commission. Russian President Vladimir Putin is also taking part in the meeting. “If this (disruption) is connected with sloppiness, with insufficient control over important processes, I want to understand and see how debriefing is going on in such cases,” he said. Also taking part in the meeting are Kremlin Administration Head Sergei Ivanov, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, head of Roscosmos Igor Komarov and his first deputy Alexander Ivanov.
Vladimir Putin also stated that the launch failure from the Vostochny “is not connected with the state of the cosmodrome, but with the missile system”
