Often, our desire to find a new input method β€” something more than a mouse, trackpad, or game controller β€” is only due to newness or intellectual curiosity. But not in the case of the GlassOuse headset (i.e., "glasses + mouse"). It is made specifically to help those who can not use a regular mouse. Worn on the head, like glasses and can connect to Windows, Linux, Mac and Android-devices via Bluetooth and perform the functions of a mouse, according to theverge .

History of GlassOuse

A quote from GlassOuse inventor Mehmet Turker:

This is a true story. Janer Kem Marty, a 20-year-old young man who loves sports and travel. On July 5, 2014, he dived unsuccessfully into the sea during his trip to Amasra (Turkey). Unfortunately, his spine was seriously damaged, so now, even after surgery, he must remain in bed. This is a tragedy for Caner. He cannot move his arms or legs, let alone travel. Ordinary people use a smartphone or tablet effortlessly, but not a Caner, which needs help just to use a digital device. The most common things we do every day, such as dialing, texting via e-mail or chatting, are a big problem for Janer and millions of other people with disabilities. Modern technologies help us, but turn away from people with disabilities - statistics show that there are millions of people who cannot use smart devices because of their disabilities. That is why I created GlassOuse, which helps Janer and other people like him use gadgets as we do every day.

GlassOuse consists of a rim and a mouse button. After you put on GlassOuse, the cursor on the screen moves in accordance with your head movements. When the head is in the center position, the cursor should be in the center of the screen. To move the cursor to the left or right, you just need to move your head from side to side. The same method is used to move the cursor up and down. In order to click the mouse, it is necessary to bite or tightly clamp a special β€œpear” fixed on the end of a long flexible cable with your lips and, at first glance, similar to a microphone. This button was tested 50,000 times and subjected to a load of up to three tons, so there is no doubt about its durability. The device is equipped with a 330mAh 3.7v Li – Po battery, which provides the ability to use glasses for 15 hours.
