Intel Compute Stick got Intel Core processors and Realsense cameras
The family of microcomputers in the form factor of the Intel Compute Stick HDMI Stick in 2016 became more diverse and powerful. The first change affected the processors: in addition to the traditional Intel Atom, the top Compute Stick models received sixth-generation Intel Core mobiles , making them one of the most charged computers on the “performance / size” criterion. Not long ago it was difficult to imagine that a full-fledged Windows-based computer would be a bit larger than a flash drive, but now it is. Another interesting version of the Compute Stick (pictured) is presented at the Intel Developer Forum 2016 in the form of a prototype. It is also equipped with an Intel Core processor, but it still has a RealSense F200 camera on the side, surrounded by an array of microphones. In this form, the stick is a ready-made "boxed" solution for implementing the whole variety of RealSense functions: Windows Hello, gesture recognition, video filters, etc. - it remains only to connect the display. Since the RealSense F200 camera should look at the user, HDMI is connected to the stick with a lanyard, and the stick itself should be searched for a stable and comfortable position, but it is worth it. As part of the Intel software program for the Internet of Things, the entire Compute Stick family will receive new interesting features, such as, for example, the Intel Remote Keyboard - remote control using an application on a smartphone. Under the cut - a demo video with IDF about new models and a survey - do you want to see the performance testing of the new Intel Compute Stick on the Intel blog?
