Eelume Submarine Robotar for Inspection and Repair Work
People are not able to effectively work on the ocean floor, but robots are ideal for performing such tasks, especially if they really look like inhabitants of the deep sea.

This water snake, designed for underwater inspection and repair work, is the result of a joint venture between scientists from the Norwegian University of Natural and Technical Sciences, the oil and gas company Statoil, and the Kongsberg Maritime company, gizmodo reports . The robot is designed to monitor the operation of underwater oil and gas equipment and repair. It is planned that this invention will reduce operating costs, increase productivity and will replace expensive equipment, including large and cumbersome autonomous underwater vehicles. Robozmeya has the ability to "slip" into those areas that are difficult to access using existing technologies.
Flexible and versatile, robozmei will be able to swim around the underwater equipment, performing simple maintenance and repair, as well as cleaning and adjusting the valves. Robots will work around the clock, solving problems as they arise. They can swim by themselves (like real sea snakes) or use thruster.
The developers do not disclose details, but the video shows that the robots are not autonomous. Power cables can create severe limitations in terms of their operational use, not to mention problems with entanglement. But looking at the conceptual video, it becomes clear that the developers would like to eventually get rid of the power cables and put the robots on stand-alone mode.
