"Vkontakte" begins to actively deal with the "pirates". The system of digital print for books has already been introduced, which allows to prohibit downloading of files deleted by the copyright holders, they write “Izvestia”. In this case, the ban will affect and re-downloaded copies of books for which rights are claimed. You can upload a file to a social network without problems, but users will not be able to download such a book.

Now in the “documents” section of the social network there are a large number of electronic books in various formats, including doc, docx, fb2 and others. Such files can be shared by the user either with the other person in the chat, or on their own page. There are groups intended for book lovers - there are often books that are protected by copyright. When a file is uploaded to a social network, the system generates a link for downloading, and when you click on a document, such a file starts downloading automatically. Now when you click on a book with a “digital fingerprint”, an automatic message is displayed stating that the file has been deleted at the request of the copyright holder.

After the administration took up this problem, the number of illegally downloaded books was significantly reduced. The actions of the administration "Vkontakte" were quite effective. Thus, the head of the Association for the Protection of Copyright on the Internet (AZAPI), Maxim Ryabyko, said that the monitoring service of this organization began to send fewer claims to the social network. Now AZAPI is suing "Vkontakte" just because of the active distribution of illegal copies of books by users of the resource.
