In the near future, we will not know exactly how the terrorist’s iPhone was hacked, because of which Apple had long sued the FBI. The lawsuit was withdrawn after the
phone was hacked without Apple assistance. Sources from the US presidential administration
shared with Reuters the information that the organization that hacked the phone owns the exclusive right to this method.
And the
Washington Post edition learned that the hacking of the smartphone was carried out by a group of professional hackers who, having found a vulnerability in the software, managed to make a device that matched the password to unlock the phone. It is reported that an unnamed group of hackers received payment for their services.

As a result, the federal agency cannot disclose information on the hacking method used, since it does not own it. True, perhaps the FBI can tell Apple what organization’s services (or hacker groups, according to sources) it used, so that the company
could find out the details and close this vulnerability.
The resonant case, because of which the struggle in court has unfolded, is a massacre in San Bernardino, California. It happened on December 2, 2015 in the building of the center for people with disabilities. As a result of the shooting, 16 people were killed, including two attackers, and another 22 civilians and 2 police officers were injured. The attack occurred on the eve of the International Day of Disabled Persons, celebrated every year on December 3.
The FBI has recognized the incident as a terrorist act and is conducting an investigation, during which a locked iPhone was discovered. Responsibility for this cruel act was assumed by ISIS, a terrorist organization whose activities are banned in many countries, including the Russian Federation.
