21-year-old photographer from St. Petersburg Egor Tsvetkov spent an interesting photo shoot
Your Face Is Big Data . After passing in the subway, he photographed passengers, and then using the free service
FindFace found the user profile in the social network "VKontakte" from his photo.
With his project, Egor
wanted to show “the end of anonymity”, that in the modern era, you need to be more careful about personal photographs and close access by outsiders to your profile.
"The development of technology takes away from the power structures a monopoly on the identification of a person by photo / video and conveys this opportunity to virtually anyone interested," writes Egor.

In such circumstances, there is no point in playing different roles in life and in the social network: “Without knowing it, people continue to adhere to the usual patterns of behavior, closing in public and opening up in social networks.”

But most importantly, the Tsvetkov project clearly demonstrates the power of modern neural networks in recognizing faces, even free programs like FindFace. By the way, this service works according to the freemium model: only the first 30 search queries per month are free. In addition, there are a number of additional paid services.
Now search in a photo takes 30-60 seconds. But you can imagine that in the future, the search will be almost in real time, so if you wish, in your smart glasses you will always see on the screen information about almost every passerby.
