On Monday, the American electric car maker Tesla Motors announced that it was recalling 2700 Model X in the United States due to seat problems.
The feedback is related to a malfunction of the locking loop in the third row of seats. In the event of a head-on collision of an electric vehicle with an obstacle, the seats may “fold” along with the passengers. This applies only to cars manufactured before March 26,

Rows of seats in the Model X')
The company began supplying Model X SUVs last September. As reported in Tesla Motors, the seats withstood 15 tests for a sharp mechanical effect, but did not pass the 16th, which turned out to be a sufficient reason for a major recall of electric cars.
The first tests were conducted in the United States, and in the European Union, the electric car did not pass the strength test. “The tests in the EU were more rigorous,” the company said.
It is worth noting that the third row of seats was made not by Tesla itself, but by a third-party supplier, Futuris Automotive, which will bear all the costs of finalizing already produced cars.
The company will begin notifying customers from today. The repair will take about two hours, and the process of replacing the malfunction in all the machines takes about five weeks.
Tesla Motros, Head of Sales and Service Department, John MacNeal noted that during the operation of Model X by consumers, no such cases were recorded, however, for the company, the safety of its customers is extremely important, therefore this revocable campaign was initiated.
Last fall, Tesla
recalled 90,000 Model S electric vehicles due to a single fault message.
