The idea that overnight a small cute gadget resembling the steering wheel of a children's bicycle could replace the complex and overall delivery system of life-giving oxygen and deal with the functions of the gills was perceived by the scientific community with great caution. It is curious that this is the second campaign “Triton” on the platform Indiegogo. The first, rapidly reaching the $ 1 million mark, was also rapidly rolled up, after which it was started again, but already somewhat in an updated form. This time, as a more weighty argument, skeptical (partly reasonably) tuned scientific circles, the authors offered several videos at once.

In its current version, the device, enclosed in an airtight, impact-resistant casing measuring 29 x 12 cm with oxygen-filled cylinders, allows you to stay and breathe under water for 45 minutes at a depth of up to 4.5 m. It is clear that with such a dive time we are talking about some special preparation of an athlete, as well as its absence is not.

The restriction is related to the capacity of a modified lithium-ion battery that provides the electronic circuit of the device, which includes: a vibration motor and a LED alarm module, a micro compressor that provides, according to the authors of the project, the required intensity of the injected oxygen flow, the air chamber where oxygen conversion to breathable air and a valve for exhausting exhaled air, filters and membranes.
Vibrations and the LED indicator at the right time will notify the diver about the dangerous level of battery charge and the need to float to the surface to “recharge”.
