Apple has filed a patent application for smart straps for Apple Watch

According to the plan, these straps should complement the functions of Apple.

The corporation has now decided to develop its own straps of this type, so as not to give this area to the development of other companies. A patent application has already been filed, from which it is approximately clear what kind of system it is.

Such a strap will connect to the watch through the diagnostic port, which became known some time after the gadget itself exited. The strap itself is described as a “modular functional strap that connects to wearable devices.” Probably, Apple will offer several types of such straps at once - perhaps with an additional battery, blood pressure sensor and other elements. And this, in turn, will allow not only to make the watch more functional, but also to postpone the obsolescence of the device.

The idea of ​​smart watch straps is not new at all, but for the first time Apple announced its intention to take up this sphere.
