It's easy to fall in love with a nice-looking robot, but how do you feel about the trash can on the Roomba vacuum cleaner? Students from the Center for Design Studies at Stanford University equipped a trash can on a wheelbase with a remote control and checked how people in public places would treat such a robot.
The video was shot a year ago, but it was
shown at the SXSW festival just now.
The child began to call the robot, attracting it with garbage, an elderly man tried to whistle, calling the robot, some people gladly threw disposable plates and cups from the cafe into it. People thought that the robot really wanted to bark trash.

And at the end of the video - the most interesting moment: when a trash can falls, a person helps him to rise and even asks if the robot is alright.
The video shows a world where servant robots live among us and where we have sympathy for them. And people throw garbage only in garbage cans.
