NedoAftershokz, or strange novelties from Sony

Yesterday's post does not quite fully demonstrate the new successes of Sony, excluding another “acoustic” novelty: headphones that do not cover the ears. We decided to say a few words about them, as conceptually they are pretty close to several opportunities already on the market.

Future Labs is a kind of creative division of Sony, in which several devices were shown at SXSW, some of which are related to acoustics.

“Evil tongues” immediately reproached Sony's “Concept N” for borrowing ideas from the now “late” project - Google Glass, since the device, in fact, is nothing more than a wearable computer with voice control and a camera. This clarifies that you can use the gadget as a Bluetooth headset. In this case, the competitive advantage is the ability to hear and the interlocutor (or music), and the surrounding sounds.

The second device, which, presumably, will be able to work both autonomously and together with the “Concept N” is, as it were, “open” headphones of a specific design. The speaker of this gadget is attached under the ear, and to the auricle is a tube, at the end of which is a “liner”. Its function, by and large, is fastening.

The feature of the device, which is asked to pay attention, is also the ability to comfortably communicate or listen to music, but at the same time - to hear what is happening around, which can be convenient and even safe in different operating conditions. In this case, in both cases we are talking about air conduction of sound.

It is worth noting here that such an “opportunity” - to hear more - is already attached to a number of other devices that are based on bone conduction technology , and among the consumer headsets are the most famous models from Aftershokz .

Taking into account the peculiarities of mounting such headphones, they also do not cover the ears, but the sound is transmitted to the inner ear directly, not through the air, and the user has the opportunity to listen to the surrounding sounds, and communicate on the phone and listen to music ...

Of the creative applications of this technology, it is worth remembering the ability to communicate through the finger , which was demonstrated not so long ago by Samsung.
