Xiaomi Mi Box 3 Enhanced Edition - a new 4K media player with a 6-core processor for $ 60

Welcome to the pages of the blog iCover ! On March 7, 2016, Xiaomi introduced the compact and powerful Mi Box 3 Enhanced Edition set-top box, with an estimated price of $ 61 from the manufacturer (¥ 399).

The Mi Box 3 Enhanced Edition includes a 64-bit SoC MediaTek MT8693 processor with two Cortex-A72 cores with a clock frequency of 2.0 GHz, four Cortex-A53 with a frequency of 1.6 GHz. Graphic content processing is entrusted to the integrated Imagination PowerVR GX6250 controller. The amount of RAM LPDDR3, was 2 GB, flash drive - 8 GB. According to the manufacturer, the device allows viewing content in 4K in H.265 format at 60 fps or in H.264 format at 30 fps. The assembly used an active cooling system.

Despite its compact dimensions (100 x 100 x 25 mm with a mass of 190 g), the console has all the necessary connectors. There is also HDMI to display the image on the TV screen and 2 USB 2.0 connectors for connecting the drive and other compatible devices. The OS uses Android 5.1 with a proprietary shell MIUI.



Wireless connection is supported by Wi-Fi 802.11ac 2 × 2 protocols with the ability to transfer data at speeds up to 300 Mb / s and Bluetooth 4.1. Connector for wired internet is not provided. According to the manufacturer, the new processor is 80%, and the video accelerator is 240% more productive than the model of the predecessor Mi Box 3. The cooling system has been improved, which has now become quieter and more efficient.
