The word "cinema" is used by the owners of The VR Cinema rather arbitrarily to describe the place where people come together to watch 360 videos with the help of virtual reality glasses and pay money for it. Approximately also the “primacy” of the VR cinema remains in question, since the owners of the establishment had previously put on similar experiments in Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands, but finally decided to settle in Amsterdam.



"Cinema" is a room in which there is no familiar screen: instead, the audience in the amount of 50 people can be placed in special chairs, rotating to complete sensations by 360 ° and use the Samsung Gear VR with Samsung Galaxy S6 virtual reality glasses. Sennheiser HD 201 headphones are also issued to them. The duration of the session is about 30 minutes, but what is shown in The VR Cinema on the cinema website is not indicated . The ticket price is € 12.50, which is about 2 times more expensive than an ordinary full-length Hollywood film session.



At the end of January in Amsterdam, the hotel also opened specifically for gamers with the talking name Arcade Hotel . The peculiarity of the 36 available numbers is that each of them has a Nintendo 3DS game console, in addition to which free magazines about computer games and comics are offered. A night in the Arcade Hotel costs € 94.50.
