SSDs are becoming more common and less expensive (although their cost is falling very slowly). And SSD manufacturers are trying to make drives even more attractive to the end customer. For this reason, drives of record volume and performance are produced. Most often, such “champions” are demanded by corporations, which is understandable - this is where the most rapid transfer of large amounts of data is needed.
Seagate has talked about the new SSD, which calls it “the fastest SSD in the world.” Indeed, the difference in performance between the new product and its closest competitor is very significant if the data of the manufacturer itself is correct. The new product is ready for commercial use, SSD is compatible with the standard Open Compute Project (OCP). Declared performance - 10 GB / s, subject to the use of 16-line PCIe slot.
Samsung’s closest competitor only shows 5.6 GB / s, so the difference is very noticeable. Seagate specialists are now working
on creating a younger SSD model for an 8-line PCIe slot. The performance of the novelty will be at 6.7 GB / s, which is still faster than the
SSD from Samsung . According to Seagate, the second model is optimal in terms of price / quality ratio.

Representatives of the company said that their SSD can be used to perform complex modeling operations, statistical analysis, or other similar purposes. Drives of this type should be used in conjunction with the HDD to create efficient hybrid data storage.
Unfortunately, it is still unclear how much new drives are worth. The model name of the company is also not reported. But this information should arrive in the near future.
