Google tests Hands Free mobile payments with face recognition

Hands Free works on Android 4.2+ and iOS 4S +. It is assumed that the smartphone is in active mode, ready to accept a voice command and is nearby: for example, it is attached to a hand or lies in a pocket.

In some stores, Google is experimenting even with a face recognition system, so the calculation at the checkout happens even faster. There is a camera installed that checks the face with a photo. Google stresses that all photos and videos taken by the camera are immediately deleted. Big brother is resting, more precisely, until he only flexes his muscles.

For security, after each purchase immediately comes a text message on the phone.

Google invites all South Bay residents to join in testing innovative payment systems. To encourage participation in the program, Google gives a discount of up to $ 5 on the first purchase without the use of hands.
