Wearable device for boxers Hykso will help the amateur become a champion
Well, maybe not a world champion, but the results of training and fighting should improve significantly, the developers say. The author of the project is a graduate student at Canadian University Khalil Zahar. The development itself is a system with two sensors that fit the wrist of an athlete and keep records of all movements of a boxer during a workout.
In each sensor there is an accelerometer and a gyroscope for measuring speed and fixing movements. Hykso tracks hits, their intensity and strength. As a result, the athlete knows how effective the training was. The data is transmitted in real time wirelessly to an iOS app. Here there is a social component - an athlete will be able to see his own results in comparison with professional fighters. It is also possible to track your progress over time, and download examples of workouts created by professionals for colleagues. ')
A number of sports organizations are already using the device, WBA world champion Javier Fortune and previously defeated boxer Rashidi Ellis are also working with him. Hykso also helps coaches track the progress of their players.
The cost of the device in retail is $ 249.95. Expensive, but most of the accessories for professionals or amateurs who are close to the pros, are also worth a lot.
