Parrot Gigi (Gigi) from Brazil (macaw parrot) suffered from a congenital disease, which was manifested in the constant growth of the upper part of the beak. As a result, the beak was deformed, and it was very difficult for the bird to eat normally, to lead the habitual way of life for the parrot. In this case, the parrots were abandoned to the mercy of fate by the previous owners, so that she would hardly have survived if it had not been for the vets who had solved her problem once and for all.

Instead of a deformed upper beak, doctors installed a titanium prosthesis, much more comfortable for Gigi, and allowing you to live a full life. Doctors, in fact, gave the bird a ticket to a new life.

As soon as the parrot regained consciousness and recovered from the operation, she decided to have a snack, and this time the dinner was full, the bird did not have to suffer. Initially, the doctors planned to install a plastic prosthesis, but then they thought that the plastic is not suitable for the macaw parrot - their food is too solid. Therefore, it was decided to put a titanium prosthesis and now the parrot opens canned food to them as a sign of gratitude .



A part of the beak was removed, instead of it a titanium prosthesis was installed, the size and shape of a perfect parrot. Two days after the operation, it became clear that the bird feels great.



Gigi was decided not to be set free, since she spent her whole life in a cage, and it would have been difficult for her to adapt to life in nature. Perhaps the bird would just die a few days later.
