German military tested the 10-kilowatt laser machine HEL
The company Rheinmetall and the German military tested the laser installation, installing it on one of the warships of Germany. During the test, the installation was mounted on the MLG 27 light ship gun. HEL was used, in particular, to track potential targets, including UAVs and ground targets.
During the test, the installation was first demonstrated in the case, previously its existence was known, but the developers did not go into details. According to the participants of the experiment, everything came well, and in the future, Rheinmetall plans to create other models of similar laser systems. HEL was first presented during the international exhibition of defense and defense equipment in September last year. Its purpose is to hit small targets (including fairly maneuverable objects in the air), both on the ground and in the air. Earlier tests of the laser were carried out on the ground, and tests on water have now been carried out. ')
Unfortunately, the test video was not presented. But what constitutes a machine can be judged from another video showing the laser gun of the Americans (called HEL MD).
And here are some more American lasers:
According to Rheinmetall, HEL is a quiet and precise protective weapon that operates within a given area. If you send HEL to optical systems, radio antennas, radars, energy sources, you can neutralize the enemy system without destroying it completely.
