We waited so long, but now we can finally write it: Motorola has returned to Russia, hurray! Now is the time to answer all those numerous questions that you probably want to ask us in one long list. Under the cut, we tried to clarify the most important details, but if suddenly something is lost, then we are waiting for you in the comments.

Do Motorola smartphones really start selling in Russia in February, as promised a couple of posts earlier?

We slightly made a mistake with the forecast. In Russia, Moto smartphones will start selling exactly on March 1.

Moto is the new official brand name?

Exactly. And even a little more - now it is a separate product line of Lenovo smartphones. As a result, there were two such lines: Lenovo Vibe and Lenovo Moto.

Wait a minute What is the ultimate search in stores if I want a Motorola smartphone?

March 1, just look for smartphones Moto, but those new items that will be presented at the MWC-2016 in Barcelona and then get to Russia, will already get the full name: Lenovo Moto.

And where to look?

In the stores "Megafon", "Svyaznoy" and "Euroset". In the future, the list of partners will certainly be expanded.

What kind of Moto device will be available in Russia on March 1?

At the start of sales, we will have four devices.

Moto X Play is a “long-playing” smartphone with good technical characteristics, a capacious 3630 mAh battery, splash protection and a “clean” Android 5.1.




Moto X Style is a very beautiful smartphone with support for fast charging. The coolest (in our opinion) version with the village case in Russia will not be, but we are already working on this issue.




Moto X Force is a powerful flagship model with an extremely durable Moto ShatterShield OLED screen. It makes no sense to write about it for a long time, it’s better just to see once how everything works with your own eyes:

An exciting question: what are the prices?

The cost of Moto G will be 16,990 rubles, Moto X Play - 29,990 rubles, Moto X Style - 39,990 rubles, and the flagship Moto X Force will cost 49,990 rubles.

Will Moto G, Moto X Force and Moto Style get upgrades to Android 6.0?

We can confidently say that this will happen. At least, simply because active work on updates is already underway, but we still find it difficult to give exact dates.

Will the Moto Maker online service work in Russia, allowing users to order a customized smartphone?

In the form in which the Moto Maker exists abroad, we will not have it implemented. However, we plan to offer some of the customization options presented in it in Russia. Not from March 1, but in the very near future.

Will the Moto 360 watch go on sale on March 1?

No, they will come later. When everything finally clears up with the deadlines, we will definitely announce the start date of sales.
