Yesterday the order of the Government of the Russian Federation of February 3, 2016 N 147-p, which amends the list of main activities related to labor adaptation of convicts, was published . The most interesting innovation is that prisons now have the right to enter the e-commerce market and trade goods on the Internet.

True, the list of products for sale online is strictly limited. Here are the relevant items from the list.

45.11.41. Wholesale trade of passenger cars and light vehicles through the information and telecommunication network "Internet" for a fee or on a contractual basis.

45.19.31. Retailing other motor vehicles, except passenger, through the Internet information and telecommunications network for a fee or on a contractual basis.

It can be assumed that the new items appeared in the list so that the prisons could participate in Internet tenders for the supply of paddy wagons and other equipment that they make there.

In addition, convicts can now engage in hunting, fishing, processing of precious stones, etc. For a full list of permitted activities, see here .

In 2015, the manufacturing sector of the penitentiary system produced marketable products, completed work and provided services amounting to more than 33.2 billion rubles. The production was employed 142.4 thousand people.
