BBC will make the first live video broadcast for astronauts from the ISS

Following the first British astronaut spacewalk, the BBC British television corporation intends to conduct its first live broadcast, intended solely for the inhabitants of the International Space Station. The broadcast will be broadcast by the television company from the Six Nations Cup.

The signal from the BBC will go to the European Space Agency, from where it will be transferred to NASA to be redirected to the ISS via a direct channel of 25 Mbps. And to look at the ISS there is a broadcast on what - after all, the astronauts have a projector and a 65-inch screen.

As part of the psychological relief, astronauts periodically order a DVD with various movies, and sometimes enjoy watching live programs. In particular, last year on this screen they were able to watch the 4-hour Super Cup .

Broadcasting is carried out using a special network of satellites Tracking and Data Relay Satellite System ( TDRSS ). At the moment, communication with satellites is possible every 80 minutes from the station’s 90-minute orbit.

The Six Nations Championship is an annual international rugby-15 competition, held among the six strongest teams in Europe: England, Ireland, Italy, Wales, France and Scotland. The first tournament of the European rugby teams was held in 1883. Now the cup is at the Irish.
