According to the head of Roskomnadzor Alexander Zharov, the torrent tracker Rutracker does not have much time left to work, in a few months the resource will close, writes RBC. The main factor that will contribute to the closure of the tracker is a massive outflow of advertisers, said Zharov.

“I think this is a turning point. Advertisers will go away, and since Rutracker is absolutely a peculiar means of mass communication, his business will end in a few months, ”the department head said.

According to Zharov, the effectiveness of resource blocking in Russia is very high. “The efficiency of blocking and reducing traffic has reached more than 75%,” he said. According to the head of the regulator, in order to continue work, Rutracker must "go to the bright side." Otherwise, the resource will have to work on another domain.

After the entry into force of the court’s decision to block a resource in Russia, the right holders decided to seek the separation of the domain Rutracker.org. “We saw that locks work, although not 100%. We have information that locks remove from 50% to 70% of visitors. Criminal activity continues. Therefore, we proceed to the next stage - the delimitation of the domain. We do not rule out the criminal prosecution of the owners of the resource, ” said Leonid Agronov, general director of the National Federation of the Music Industry.
