The state will fully pay for the production of unmanned "KAMAZ"

Unmanned "KAMAZ" on Russian roads - an increasingly real perspective. The main thing is to modify the technology to a practical form, and the state will provide ample financing for the development. The project is important to exclude people from participating in cargo transportation. Machines in the army will be useful for delivering cannons and rocket launchers to the site - perhaps the weapon will also be equipped with a remote control.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade is ready to compensate 97% of the cost of developing vehicles with autonomous and remote control, if by 2021 serial production of unmanned KamAZ 100 pieces will be organized. in year. The draft government decree was published on the portal regulation.gov.ru, write "Vedomosti".

Cognitive Technologies is the developer of the autonomous control system. Employees of this company a year ago answered the questions of the editors of GeekTimes.

Recall that in 2016 testing of KamAZ vehicles with an unmanned control system on general purpose roads begins . In the coming months, the truck without a driver will be released on the M11 Moscow - St. Petersburg highway, testing will last until 2018.

During the tests, a road train from 5–10 Kamaz trucks will be organized, and the driver will drive only the first of them, and only in difficult conditions. The remaining trucks should automatically copy the movement of the head machine.

If everything goes well, the tests will continue on high-speed roads from Helsinki and Brest to Beijing.

Rosavtodor already spends 4 billion rubles annually. on the road markings for UAVs.

The project “High-speed road corridors for unmanned vehicles” received funding of 10 billion rubles. from the budget last year. This year, another 2.2 billion are planned for the KAMAZ, GAZ and AvtoVAZ drones. Now the Ministry of Industry and Trade also offers additional funding.

Under the terms of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, it is possible to pay from the budget expenses for research and development, staff salaries (a total of at least 300 people should work on the project, 100 jobs should be new), leasing payments for equipment and so on.

Sources close to the company say that by 2021 they will be able to create only partially unmanned KAMAZ vehicles with an automatic transmission, and fully autonomous trucks will appear around 2030.

The vice-president of the GAZ group expressed regret that the project of financing provides for the obligatory condition of having all-wheel drive at the car. Thus, only unmanned trucks, but not buses will receive state support.
