The automaker Porsche announced the completion of the construction of the first column, which collects the energy of the sun. The 25-meter column, located at the construction site of the future Berlin-Adlershof Porsche car center in Germany, is capable of delivering up to 30 MWh per year. The column is equipped with 7776 solar panels. It will be used to power the complex and charge visitors' electric vehicles for free.

Autocentre will open in 2017. Construction of the column by Porsche is one of the first steps in the development of renewable energy and emphasizes the company's interest in electric vehicles. At the same time, for the time being, Porsche has no plans for the development of robotic cars - a rather popular topic among other automakers. As the chairman of the board of directors of the company, Oliver Blum, noted in an interview , “Porsche is the car that you want to drive yourself.”

But the company announced that the first electric vehicle from Porsche, “Mission E”, will appear before the end of this decade. In the development of new technologies necessary to create a car, the company will invest a billion euros.
