For myself, I temporarily decided to use Privoxy non-caching web proxy - a very simple setup, it works under all systems, allows you to extend filters, and cuts ads on Habré (yes, I’m ashamed :-)).
I installed it not completely in default - I installed it on a Linux machine for additional security: in fact, I have a Windows machine on the table (for Autluk and an office) and a Linux one (the main one) under the table. Well, I put it on Ubuntu (although it will work fine under Windows):
sudo apt-get install privoxy
The only change I needed was to change the default address on which the proxy “listens” - from 127.0.0.1 to the hostname of my machine. After that, I registered my Linux host and port in the Chrome settings (Settings -> Under the hood -> Proxy settings), and I don’t see any more ads.
Although, of course, AdBlock is better - it just does not allow Chrome to show pictures and flash drives, and AdBlock cuts out the whole <div> or <iframe>, so that even a white rectangle does not remain - I hope that such a decision will not take long.

PS A proxy is configured from the web interface - at a funny
pp address or “full” -
config.privoxy.org - which it “cuts through” to the local one (or sends you to the “Privoxy has not been set up properly” if something It did not work and the browser does not go through a proxy).
