The prm.ru website today hosted an online conference of Alexander Ponosov, the director of a rural school, who had recently been on trial for using pirated versions of Microsoft programs. Responding to questions from Internet users, the director admitted that after all this history he turned to free software, started LiveJournal and is thinking of opening a website.
In disclosing one of the topics, Ponosov noted that the software package for one computer (Windows Vista and MS Office) costs about 20 thousand rubles. “I'd rather buy two battered computers for school,” he said.
Ponosov also spoke about the relationship with Microsoft during the conflict: “From the very beginning, the MS was not enthusiastic about this case. Proposals for a settlement were before the trial, just for the money. After a lot of noise, the corporation offered to simply admit guilt and apologize ... ”. ')
At the same time, the director of the Sepychevo school does not exclude that they will resume the criminal case against him. According to him, the prosecutor’s office is requesting that the case be returned for review by another court. A new review will begin on March 27 in the Regional Judicial Collegium of the city of Kudymkar.
