The world's first jetpack, suitable for use in practice, created the New Zealand inventor Martin Glenn (Glenn Martin). In the near future he intends to begin selling his invention. True, the pack he created cannot be called reactive. His "heart" - the usual gasoline engine with a capacity of 200 horsepower. This engine accelerates the rotors, creating lift. But the word jetpack (jetpack) is so firmly established in popular culture that journalists do not call the novelty another word. Still, "Jetpak" used by such celebrities as, for example, Duke Newkem, James Bond and Robocop. You can fly at a low altitude on a pseudo-jetpack for half an hour, the control is carried out using two handles. Forty-eight Glenn Martin dreamed of creating a jetpack from the age of five. In order to realize the dream in the metal took 27 years. The first prototype of the knapsack was ready in 1997, and the inventor's wife became the first test pilot. Then Glenn tested the knapsack on his son Harrison. Now the test program is complete. The inventor plans to demonstrate his offspring at the EAA AirVenture air show, after which he intends to begin selling the world's first working “jetpack” at a price of $ 100,000 per piece.
