Podcasters will pay royalties

The Council on United States Copyright and Royalties ( United States Copyright Royalty Board ) has established for everyone who broadcasts licensed audio content on the Internet, royalty rates for broadcasting.

So, broadcasting one song to one listener will cost podcasters:

- in 2007: $ 0,0011;
- in 2008: $ 0,0014;
- in 2009: $ 0,0018;
- in 2010: $ 0,0019.

According to Radio and Internet Newsletter (RAIN), the average Internet radio station plays 16 songs per hour.
